1. Common materials:

Similar to ordinary self-standing bags, flat bottom pouches mostly use multi-layer composite films to meet various requirements.

• Outer layer: PET / BOPP (providing printing adhesion and wear resistance).

• Middle layer: AL (aluminum foil, high barrier) / VMPET (coated aluminum, good barrier) / NY (nylon, toughening).

• Inner layer: PE / CPP (providing heat sealing performance).

2. Manufacturing Techniques:

• Flat bottom pouches mainly use intaglio printing to achieve vivid colors and exquisite patterns on high-grade materials.

• Flat bottom pouch's production process is much more complicated than that of ordinary self-standing bags. Flat bottom pouch requires a special octagonal sealing bag-making machine, which forms the product in one step through precise heat sealing control. Therefore, the production cost is also higher.

• Excellent user experience: The flat bottom pouch is easy to open, stand upright and pick up, and is usually equipped with a repeat sealing function.

• High transportation safety: Strong resistance to compression, reducing the damage rate during the distribution process.

Challenge:

• High cost: The complex bag-making process and higher material wastage result in the flat bottom pouch's cost being much higher than that of ordinary self-standing bags.

• Slow production speed: The bag-making process is more complex, leading to relatively lower production efficiency.

• Environmental considerations: The flat bottom pouch also faces the problem of difficult recycling of multi-layer composite materials.
